After the successful first edition, the 2nd Biologie prospective international colloque will take place in Santorini island (Greece) from 30th september to 04th october 2004, organised by Biologie Prospective and INSERM.
“From human genetics variations to prediction of risks and response to environment”
The aim of this meeting is to bring together clinicians, laboratory medicine specialists, scientists from pharmaceutical industries, geneticists, epidemiologists for discussing how variability in the human genome could be helpful and used for: Prediction of risks, particularly in multifactorial diseases (cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer, cancer…) Evaluation of environmental risks (screening individual responses to nutrition, alcohol, tobacco, exercise and life habits) Pharmacogenomics (measuring the individual responses to drugs, including resistance to drugs) The necessary tools for achieving these targets will also be presented.
