The EuroNanoForum 2007 (http://www.euronanoforum2007.de/) will start in next week in Dusseldorf, Germany. The focus of the conference will be on the challenge to transfer nanotechnology from the
laboratory into the market place.
The conference is offering an excellent programme (http://www.euronanoforum2007.de/content/view/20/38/), featuring internationally renowned speakers, like Donald Fitzmaurice (ePlanet Ventures,
Ireland), Mihail Roco (NSF, USA), Fred van Roosmalen (NXP Semiconductors, The Netherlands), Peter Krueger (Bayer Material Science, Germany), Peter Hatto (Ion Bond Ltd, UK), Frederic Luizi (Nanocyl,
Belgium), Jacques Gierak (CNRS, France) and Paul Reip (QinetiQ, UK). Nicholas Hartley, Director of Industrial Technologies, European Comission, will outline the status of the European Action Plan for
Nanotechnology.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the Reception of the German EU-Presidency, taking place during a cruise on the new super-catamaran MS RheinEnergie. All registered participants of
the conference are automatically invited to this event.
The last day of the conference will be exlusively dedicated to a review of the current state of European nanotechnology. Renzo Tomellini from the EC will give an overview of the NMP activities in
the 7th European Research Framework Programme followed by sessions on ERA-Nets, European Technology Platforms related to nanotechnology, national activities and much more.
